Ultrasound of the pelvic organs (preparation)

2-3 days before the ultrasound (diet):

Exclude: products that cause gases (raw vegetables and fruits, cabbage, legumes, black (rye) bread, whole milk, eggs, soda, sweets and alcohol).

You can eat: porridge made with water, lean meat or fish (steamed or boiled), hard cheese.

In case of flatulence (bloating): take simethicone or activated carbon.

On the day of the examination:

Drink approximately 1 litre of still water 1 hour before your appointment.

Do not empty your bladder for 3–4 hours before the examination. A comfortably full bladder is necessary for optimal visualization of the pelvic organs.
